The Godolphin-owned and bred horse secured a half-length victory in the 1 1/8-mile turf race, marking bin Suroor’s 500th grade or group victory. Mawj’s impressive performance has now set her sights on the upcoming Breeders’ Cup at Santa Anita, where she will have the option to compete in the Mile against males or the Filly and Mare Turf over 1 1/4 miles.

Mawj held off a late challenge from Lindy to claim her second consecutive Grade/Group 1 victory. After her triumph in the English One Thousand Guineas in May, Mawj showcased her exceptional talent once again, running too well to be defeated. Mission of Joy made a valiant effort to catch Mawj in the stretch but was ultimately passed late in the race, finishing third. Trainer Graham Motion’s assistant, Alice Clapham, expressed satisfaction with Mission of Joy’s performance, highlighting that she would return to Fair Hill Training Center in Maryland. Clapham also noted that the filly’s Grade 1 placement was a significant achievement.

Elusive Princess Settles for Fourth Place

Elusive Princess, the second favorite in the field of nine, finished fourth in the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup. Trainer Arnaud Delacour revealed that the horse would be returning to Fair Hill on Monday, with plans for her future races yet to be determined.
